37 Personnel Honored For Promotions at Metro Fire
Mather, CA – In a ceremony at Metro Fire’s Headquarters tonight at 6 pm, the District will celebrate thirty seven members who are promoting to new positions. All of the promotees earned their new positions through successful completion of promotional testing processes including written, practical, and interview based examinations. Fire Chief Todd Harms and members of his Executive Staff will join the Metro Fire Board of Director’s at tonight’s event attended by several of the newly promoted personnel and their families.
Deputy Chief of Operations Eric Bridge welcomes twenty one new Fire Captains, who are assigned on fire engines and fire trucks to supervise a crew of firefighting personnel, will be recognized for their ascension to this leadership role along with six new Fire Engineers who operate our fire apparatus. The District also announces the promotion of six Paramedics within our Single Role Paramedic Program in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division. All of these personnel assist Metro Fire’s mission to provide emergency services delivery throughout our 358 square mile jurisdiction, the seventh largest fire agency in the State of California.
Within the Support Services Branch, Deputy Chief Brian Shannon has promoted a new Assistant Fleet Manager in the Fleet Division which manages over three hundred emergency response apparatus and support vehicles including the maintenance, repair, and replacement plans for these critical resources.
Deputy Chief Greg Casentini of the Administration Branch has also announced the promotion of a Fire Inspector II and a Plan Intake Specialist within the Community Risk Reduction Division (CRRD) responsible for ensuring compliance of buildings and other public spaces with fire code and other fire and life safety requirements within the Districts area. Of particular note, the Plan Intake Specialist position allows Metro Fire to expand over the counter plan intake services to the Cities of Citrus Heights (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and Rancho Cordova (Tuesday and Thursday) at their respective City Halls.
