Fire in Carmichael Home Ruled Accidental

Sacramento County, CA – Just before 10:00 p.m., Metro Fire crews were dispatched to the 5600 block of Hesper Way in Carmichael for a report of flames through the roof of a house. First arriving crews found a fire that had started on the exterior of the home and spread to the attic and interior. They initiated an aggressive fire attack, while searching for potential victims who might be inside.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, containing it to the attic and rear corner of the structure. A large portion of the home, as well as the residents’ belongings, were saved from fire damage. Arson investigators responded to the scene and determined the cause to be accidental in nature. Damage is estimated at $50,000. Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
