Two Cats and One Dog Rescued from Citrus Heights House Fire

Sacramento County, CA – Just before 5:00 pm today, Metro Fire crews responded to a house fire on the 7900 block of Glen Field Court in Citrus Heights. Following a week of triple digit temperatures, the fire that started on the back patio spread to the rear of the home and attic. Firefighters quickly initiated fire attack and searched for victims, rescuing two cats and one dog. One cat required treatment due smoke inhalation; firefighters on scene administered oxygen to him using a Pet Mask. After a short time, Miko appeared to be doing much better. The other two pets did not require any treatment.
