Metro Fire Assistant Chief Selected Fire Chief for Sacramento Fire Department

Sacramento, CA – Metro Fire is extremely proud to learn that the City of Sacramento has selected Metro Fire Assistant Chief Walt White to be their new Fire Chief.

A consummate professional, Chief White's ethics and integrity will provide him the foundation to be a tremendous leader of the Sacramento Fire Department. His commitment to the Fire Service will make him an invaluable regional partner in the delivery of fire and emergency medical services to the Sacramento County and surrounding region.

"It is an honor for Metro Fire, and a testament to the quality of our employees and culture, to have one more of our Chief Officers selected to be the Fire Chief of another department in the State of California," stated Metro Fire Chief Kurt Henke. Previous Metro Fire chiefs that have continued on to become Fire Chief are: Dan Haverty - Folsom Fire Chief, Rick Martinez - West Sacramento Fire Chief, Wynn Latta - Roseville Fire Chief, Jeff Metzinger - Sacramento County Airport System Fire Chief, and Steve Cantelme – Fire Chief, Office of Emergency Services, County of Sacramento.
