Early Morning Fire Leaves Victim in Critical Condition

Sacramento County, CA – Shortly before 6 this morning, Metro Fire crews responded to the 3500 block of East Country Club Lane in the Arden area for a report of visible flames from a residence. Crews arrived to find a single story home, with heavy fire coming from the front. With initial reports of a possible victim inside, crews immediately began searching the home, while fire attack was occurring.  A victim was quickly found, pulled from the residence and delivered to paramedics waiting at the front door. The medic crew, with assistance from two firefighters on an engine, immediately began treatment and transported the victim, in critical condition, to a local hospital.

Four engines, two trucks, and two medics worked quickly to find, rescue and treat the victim while extinguishing the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No additional civilians or firefighters were injured.

At this time, it is unknown if there were working smoke alarms in the home. Metro Fire reminds you to test your smoke alarms and replace the batteries when you change your clocks. It could save your life!
